Lithuanian Innovation Centre (LT)
LIC is one of the most effective public innovation support organizations in Lithuania. For more than 25 years LIC provides innovation support services to businesses, research and study institutions, Lithuanian business associations.
With a team of 50+ experts, LIC has implemented 120+ national and international projects,coordinates the activities of the Enterprise Europe Network in Lithuania and is the coordinator of the CERN incubator operating in the country.
LIC is the coordinator of Smart Digital Solutions cluster, which specializes in the development and implementation of digital technologies in the industrial, agricultural and energy sectors. The cluster’s mission is to combine the potential of cluster members to increase their competitiveness by the use of digital technologies.
Asociacion Cluster Alimentario de Galicia (ES)
Clusaga (the Galician Food Cluster) is a cluster organisation located in the region of Galicia (Spain). Created in 2010, its mission is to contribute to the sustainable growth, enhanced competitiveness, and internationalisation of the Galician food sector. Clusaga’ scope of action includes the whole food and drink value chain.
Clusaga currently has 114 members organisations including: companies, sub-sector business associations, and the following knowledge,research & technology infrastructure: the three Galician universities and three research/technological centres (respectively focusing on ICT, marine sector and meat sector).
Clusaga’s work is based upon the belief of developing a common goal and establishing a joint strategic plan, bringing together the complementary resources and capabilities of the main agents of the food and drink value chain, and providing innovation and intelligence services and networking opportunities to its members.
Inovcluster Asociacao do Cluster Agro Indistrial do Centro (PT)
InovCluster is a cluster organisation located in the CENTRO region of Portugal (NUTS2 – PT16). Created in 2009, its mission is to act as a networking platform for the agrifood sector in Centro region of Portugal, reinforcing innovation, internationalisation, and transfer of knowledge and technology activities for the SMEs, working closely with three helix actors in the CENTRO region boosting capabilities and resources.
InovCluster currently has 174 members including 136 companies, 15 sectoral associations, 7 Universities, 8 RD&I entities, and 8 Municipalities. InovCluster’s work is based upon the concept that by bringing together the complementary resources and capabilities of the main agents of the food and drink value chain, InovCluster can contribute to fostering the competitiveness of the agro-food sector of CENTRO.
Since 2009 until 2020, InovCluster developed 35 co-funded project by several instruments (European, national and regional) with na total of investment of more than 13M€.
Latvijas Partikas Uznemumu Federacija (LV)
Food Products Quality Cluster Latvia was created in 2012. The cluster gathers 27 members and is aimed at promoting cooperation between Latvian food enterprises and increase their export potential and developing co-operation of non-interconnected entrepreneurs, research, education and other institutions, thus furthering competitiveness of industries and entrepreneurs, growth of export volumes as well as innovations and development of new products.
In the past years, cluster organized 326 business meetings with foreign companies for 28 Latvian food producers and food producer group visits to 15 countries - as a result, more than 50 food product deliveries were made to export markets. The cluster also carried out research on improving food product packaging and on extending the food product expiration date – as a result, new products have been introduced and developed the National Quality guidelines to support the production of quality products.
The cluster participated in several EU cluster events, such as 4th Matchmaking Cluster Conference or BSR Cluster.
Lithuanian Food Exporters Association (LitMEA) (LT)
Smart Food Cluster Lithuania is managed by LitMEA. The cluster was created in 2013 and currently gathers 52 members from agro-food, food processing and manufacturing sectors helping cluster members to enhance competitiveness in foreign markets, bringing together the capabilities of the companies, competencies and contacts.
The cluster is aimed at fostering participation in joint export promotion projects with other associates and business structures, finding new partners in foreign markets and exchanging mutually beneficial information, as well as jointly disseminating information about cluster activities and building international visibility for its cluster members.
Currently, the cluster strengthens cooperation for the development of functional, innovative food products and beverages, boosting business & science cooperation between corporate technologists and research institutions. The cluster participated in several EU cluster events, such as 4th Matchmaking Cluster Conference or BSR Cluster Internationalization workshop 2016.
